Auto Burglary Subject Arrested

On 10/02/09 during the early morning hours, eight vehicles were burglarized in the Rivo Alto and Dilido island neighborhoods. During one of the burglaries the above subject was recorded on a home surveillance system, breaking into multiple vehicles. Working with the surveillance video and latent finger print, Auto theft detectives were able to identify Sansberg as a suspect. During a thorough interview Sansberg confessed to committing all of the burglaries and was charged with,8 counts of auto burglary, 2 counts of burglary (Curtilage) and 2 counts of Trespass (Curtilage).
In order to deter this type of crime, we recommend that residents follow these suggestions:
- Do not leave your vehicle unlocked.
- Do not leave anything of value where it can be seen.
- When parking your vehicle at home, do not leave items (such purse, laptops, etc.,) in the vehicle overnight.
- Park in well lit areas when possible.
